Race: Are We So Different? explores race in the United States from three unique perspectives to provide a highly personal exhibit experience. Learn the history of race, the role of science plays in that history and the everyday experience of race. The Italian American Heritage Festival makes its Downtown debut with two days of entertainment, contests and all things Italian. Enjoy everything from Italian folk dancers to a corporate bocce tournament to cooking demonstrations by Chef George Formaro and Tony Lemmo to a US Pizza Team demonstration to a presentation of Mama Mia. The event will be held on the Court Avenue Bridge from 11AM to 2AM on Friday and from 10AM to 2AM Saturday. There's no charge either day until 5PM. After 5PM there's a $5 entry fee per person. The high school boys of summer take the field for the Boys State Baseball Tournament at Principal Park, One Line Drive in the Court District. See Class 1A through 4A games at noon, 2, 6 and 8PM starting July 23. Championship games for each class will be played on Saturday, July 31st. For more information, visit www.iahsaa.org

All ages interested in metal/thrash will hear Hexen, Dark Mirror, The Curse of Hail and headliner RattleheaD at Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth Street in the Court District. Doors for the show open at 5PM and the entertainers take the stage at 5:30PM. Cover is $7.

It's an evening of hip hop/rap/lyrical for those 21+ at Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth Street in the Court District. Opening will be Aeon Grey, Lethal Scriptures and Toby Diligent. Headliner is Eastern Sunz who will provide a fresh take on political, social and environmental issues in their performance. Doors for the show open at 9:30PM. Show starts at 10PM. Cover is $6.
